Spotlight on Leahkl

Meet Leah, the brains behind Leahkl.  She's a mother of four and a dedicated vintage chenille collector.  Her little girl sparked her chenille crush and shes been crafting with it ever since.  Her amazing upcycled goods range from quilts to rattles.

All of her items beg to be touched.  The buttery colors don't hurt the appeal.  I am confident that the any of her items would be a great sensory experience for a newborn.

Have a baby shower coming up?  Don't worry!  Her shop holds gifts for every budget, ranging in price from $8.00 to $130.00.  Go check out Leahkl on Etsy...you won't be disappointed.

The Nautical Trend

It seems like the nautical trend will never go out of style.  When it comes to the little ones, that is even more true.  My beach-side childhood may prove me bias, but sailor chic always makes me swoon.

Let's start with this adorable Starfish Jumper from The Trendy Tot.  It's simplicity is genius!  I love a little lady in navy blue.

This Organic Frenchie Sailor Collar is too cute for words.  Don't worry, that sweet little hat is also available at Pure Pixie's store.

And here is the perfect nautical themed baby gift, Hand Knit Anchor BootiesFabius Maximus has a wide range of knit booties and other goodies.

So, don't be shy!  Check out these great EtsyBaby Team members and show the love.

A Chic Boutique for your Little Peep

Stacy, the owner and creator of The Little Chick, spends her free time designing fun and modern accessories for babies and kids.   This week we caught up with Stacy, and here is what we have learned about her adorable shop:

Tell us a bit about yourself and what arts/ crafts that you make?

I am a mom of one beautiful 16 month old little girl and she is the absolute love of my life.....as I'm sure every mom would say of their own kids. In my life before my daughter, I was a freelance designer. My main focus was corporate aviation, but I also worked with kitchen and bath design and interior design. My love of sewing and crafting has been a life long hobby. I've always made things for other people, so when I decided to stay home with my daughter, it was the perfect transition.

I have enjoyed being able to use my creativity to create beautiful baby and toddler accessories from bibs, burp cloths, blankets, quilts, diaper bags and soon to come.....adorable spring dresses.

Is there anything unique about your product?

Most of the items in my shop can be personalized. I love getting request for items to be monogrammed. It is rewarding to see the names of the little one's that will be using my products.

My favorite part of the creation process is picking out fabrics. I guess it is the designer in me dying to come out. I enjoy strolling thru fabric stores and online looking for new and exciting new fabric options.

What was your goal for 2010? And are you on the right track?

My goal for 2010 was to get my shop noticed and to join some great teams to start marketing my products. I definitely feel like I am on the right track. I have joined some really great teams including the wonderful EtsyBaby team. I have been able to meet some really great people and have enjoyed interacting with all of the talented shop owners. 2011 looks like it will be a great year. I can't wait to add new products and continue making existing ones.

"I can't wait to work with you and create something fantastic for your little one!"

Modern Boutique Style Clothing

This week, we are checking out Addie Kat Boutique, offering high quality boutique style clothing for little ones of all ages.  Here is what we've learned:

Tell us a bit about yourself and what arts/ crafts that you make?

My name is Kim Thacker and I specialize in children's clothing. I design and make all of AddieKat's clothing myself, so each item is made specially for your little one.

Is there anything unique about your product?
One thing unique about my tutus that is hard to find is that I sew the tulle on the waist instead of tie it, so they will last much longer than the tied tutus. Also, I offer personalization on all of my items.

What is your favorite item in your shop?

My favorite items by far are all of my matching brother and sister outfits. I make them for every holiday and they are so much fun! I love to dress my own girls alike, so it always makes me happy to see pictures of other people's children dressed alike in my outfits!

 What is your best seller?

Once again, my matching brother and sister outfits. People always contact me saying how happy they are to have found these because it's hard to find sibling outfits that match. (SIDE NOTE: I hope that there isn't going to be a rush of new brother and sister outfits flooding Etsy) ;-)

What was your goal for 2010? And are you on the right track for 2011?

100% customer satisfaction is always my goal. So far so good!
