LaDy LaDuke Loves Ladies

Courtney and Betina of LaDy LaDuke have thought of it all when it comes to nursing covers... Tired of backside exposure with your nursing cover? Do you stand in public while nursing, pushing a stroller or chase another kid around?  We chatted with LaDy LaDuke to find out why they are the answer to all of our nursing cover needs!

Tell us a bit about yourself and what arts/ crafts that you make?

We are two sisters, who always loved fashion and design, sharing a room, and playing dress up. Our Mom used to sew many of our clothes, as well as her own, and we would have a ball looking through her Vogue patterns. So, the design seed was always there. Then we were out with our sister-in-law, who was trying to nurse in public, while walking, chasing her toddler, and tugging at the back of her shirt to keep covered, and thought, why don’t we make something that really works for Moms! After research and prototypes, we came up with our original full coverage, mobile nursing cover invention…The Feeder Frock. We launched the Feeder Frock here on Etsy, and have now added our own unique versions of binky holder accessories, as well as nursery decor items.

What is your best seller?

Our LaDy's Signature Pocket Feeder Frock in black gingham check.

How do you make your shop and your product stand out from the others?

We aim to take very stylized and interesting photos of our products with a model. We want Moms to feel like they can still be cool and fashionable, even after having a baby and feeling their bodies out of whack. We try to cater to Moms with a variety of tastes, colors and custom choices, and to be able to offer seasonal collections. We also wanted plus size options, since plus size women seem to get left out when it comes to nursing covers on the market. We really strive to make our products have the most problem solving function and style a Mom can find.

What is your favorite item in your shop?

So tough!...The Feeder Frocks are like our little babies, but the favorite item right now would be our Bella Couture Curtains in hot pink.

"We understand what it's like to live in a world of kids all day, and that sometimes you need something that is pretty and special, and just for you."

Pacifier Clips by Whimsical Lo

We caught up with Ashley, creator of the Whimsical Lo pacifier clips, and chatted with her about her shop and her product.  Please read about what she shared with us!

Is there anything unique about your product?  I've just gotten my lab certificate from a CPSCIA certified forensic lab. They tested and certified that my pacifier clips meet CPSCIA requirements for lead & phthalates, which means they are safe!!!

How do you make your shop and your product stand out from the others? I try to keep my prices low so that everyone can afford them. I want everyone to be able to feel like they can keep their babies trendy and safe even on a budget. I want moms to feel 100% comfortable when shopping my store & I think safety & prices are something every mom can relate too.

What is your favorite item in your shop? Currently my favorite item is the Trick-Or-Treat pacifier clip. It is so cute for Halloween & it's perfect for a boy or a girl.

What is your best seller? For girls it's the Princess & Daddy's Girl pacifier clips. For boys it's the camo & giraffe print pacifier clips. The holiday clips are also big sellers during those seasons.

Anything else you would like to share?  I would be more than happy to offer readers of the feature 10% of their total order (before shipping) in my store through 9/30/10. If they enter FEATURE10 in the checkout notes I will refund the 10% discount back to their Paypal account after purchase.
"I would never sell an item that I do not feel 100% safe using on my daughter." - Ashley

PS - just a side note from this writer - I bought 3 clips almost a year ago from Ashley and was very happy with my purchase!  The clips lasted until the pacifier was taken away, I was able to wash them in the washing machine, and the prices were fantastic!  Don't forget to check out the deal she's offering above to the etsyBABY blog readers!

Spreading the Joy

Meet Joy from Props By Little Miss.  With 25 years of crochet experience, she designs and creates the perfect photography prop for newborns!  She took some time to answer a few questions about herself and her shop:

Tell us a bit about yourself and what arts/ crafts that you make?
My name is Joy. I'm a SAHM to 6 children ranging in age from 18-2! 1 boy and 5 girls. My husband is in the US Navy. I crochet. I learned well over 25 yrs ago. I actually come from a long line of crochet artist. I'll never forget as a small child watching my grandmother crochet intricate little doilies.

Is there anything unique about your product?
The majority of my items are self designed. On the occasion I do use a pattern I tend to get off track and I end up doing my own thing! I believe my experience in my craft makes my product unique, the quality is superb.

What is your favorite item in your shop?
The newborn rose cocoon is my current favorite. Such beauty!
How do you make your shop and your product stand out from the others?

My shop stands out because I tend to create items with a touch of whimsy. I have exciting, and fun photo props.

What is your best seller?
Definitely my owl hat!

Thank you, Joy, for sharing with us and spreading the joy!  Your pictures are amazing, you are a true talent, and your work speaks for itself!
